The tour was very interesting and fun. We learned a lot about Grand Central Terminal how it was built, etc. We really enjoyed! We learned a lot about Grand Central terminal and it’s history. We are native New Yorkers – there were so many things. We never noticed even though we have been there many times.
Just say Vanderbilt but thank Jackie O A fun, engaging, educational tour of GCT led by Jonathan. I worked in GCT in the 80’s and still I found this tour exceptional! You could actually hear Jonathan’s every word and he remembered everyone’s names and used them in every sentence (a lost art!). His delivery is theatrical, so let’s add entertaining to the list of adjectives here! Just under 2 hours was a perfect length. A terrific value as well. (This review was not AI generated). I’mA person with feelings.
Grand Central’s Best Storyteller Guide Untapped New York, Secrets of Grand Central TerminalJonathan was an excellent guide, on point, knowledgeable, funny, and a natural storyteller. He brought Grand Central’s hidden history to life with clarity and charm. I definitely recommend this tour! Mei & Victor, GA
Highly recommend This was an excellent 1 hour 30 minute tour allowing behind the scenes views of Grand Central Station not available to the general public. I would never have known about the tennis court otherwise! The guide explained things so well and gave us so much interesting information. It was well worth doing and one of many great memories from my trip to New York.
An amazing landmark comes alive. We all live in NYC but wanted to learn more about this beautiful landmark. Even jaded New Yorkers will learn so much and be amazed by going on this tour. Our tour guide, Colin, was so personable, kind and knowledgeable. We all had such a great time.
A great tour — highly recommend! Our tour of Grand Central Terminal was led by Dr. Richard Soden, who was terrific. He is very well-informed and clearly enjoyed sharing interesting information with our small group. I won’t spoil any secrets by stating them in the review, but I know you will look at this famous New York monument with greater admiration than before.
A star in Grand Central Grand Central Station was even more interesting than I’d thought it would be, and our guide, Jonathan, made it so entertaining! He engaged each member of the group throughout the tour, he was warm and funny, but also brimming with facts to remember. He maintained order in the busy surroundings and was considerate to our group members, employees doing their jobs, and the general public. I will recommend Untapped and Jonathan to everyone I know.
Entertaining and informative We learnt so much about the history of Grand Central Station and our guide, who was an entertaining character, knew so much about the building and tiles us many gems of information. I highly recommend the tour and my teen (14), who enjoys history, really took a lot from it too.
Don’t miss this tour The tour was great. We had a group of 13 women, including on with a walker, and Jim was fabulous. He had a tremendous amount of information and he was great and making all of it very interesting. It is a must do in NYC!
Wonderful tour of Grand Central Station Richard gave us a fantastic tour of GCS–loaded with history and fun facts while pointing out the features of the station that we’d passed by without noticing dozens of times. Who knew there was an actual tennis court in the building that is still in use? Who knew there’s a spiral staircase inside the information booth that leads down to the food court? Highly recommend this tour for both tourists and locals.
An Enjoyable Experience A really interesting and enjoyable experience with a delightful and knowledgeable tour guide. We learnt so much about the history of Grand Central Terminal backed up by pictures showing the changes to the building over the years. I have already told friends and family that the tour is well worth undertaking. We were all fascinated to see a tennis court in the terminal!
We enjoyed the Secrets of the Grand Central Station Walking Tour very much! We enjoyed the Secrets of Grand Central Station Walking Tour very much! Our tour guide, Richard, was well-versed, informing us not only about the history of this architectural gem but showed us areas we would never have known existed. Who knew that there is a tennis court within the Station? We always take tours when in NY and felt that this was another tour well done!
Great inside tour of Grand Central While trying to find a rainy day activity, we came across this tour on google. We were very impressed with the tour guide and how extensively we were able to explore the history behind Grand central station! Would highly recommend for a unique experience especially on a rainy day.
Great tour & tour guide Superb tour with our female tour guide, we think her name was Katherine, she was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the history of this phenomenonal building. We weren’t going to bother with the walking tour & planned on just seeing the station ourselves but sooo glad we did…She brought the whole building to life and explained in great detail each of the hidden places we visited. We had to run off at the end as we had a tour booked at the Music City Hall so we didn’t get chance to thank her in person but she was a fantastic guide.Thank you very much, would highly recommend
Excellent tour with excellent tour guide Richard our guide was a fount of knowledge, showing us round and about many areas of the terminal you wouldn’t normally see. He knew everything there was to know about all aspects of the terminal, and it was a fascinating into its history. We would thoroughly recommend this tour.
Fun informative way to fill some free time in the city. The GC Station tour was informative, interesting, fun and an overall excellent way to spend some time between arrival in the city and my evening plans. It got perhaps a little long (more than 90 minutes), but may have been due to the size of the group (relatively large).
Interesting unknown places Louis is very knowledgeable and has many interesting facts to impart. He needs to move the group around more. Standing in one place for a long time is very uncomfortable. He uses a communication device, so you can hear him talk while you walk around. No mention was made of Jacquie Kennedy’s efforts to save the building even when we stood next to pictures of her near the former waiting room.
Grand experience at the beautiful Grand Central! John was by far the best tour guide I have had the pleasure to encounter this visit to NYC. I’m an avid lover of history and architecture and his tour of the “secrets”of Grand Central didn’t disappoint. What an architectural treasure. So glad she was protected from destruction! Also now I know for a future visit to NYC that I will have to bring my racquet and book a lesson on the tennis court that I had NO idea existed. Do yourself a favor and book this tour…you won’t regret your decision.
Excellent Must Do Tour I looked for something to do on our second day in NYC. Since the month had been extremely hot I was looking for something to do indoors. We arrived early and met John DeSanto our tour guide. I know from the first few minutes that John was going to be excellent: he was funny, super informative and full of fun facts. You get to tour the inside of the building and go outside and find out more amazing facts about the station.I was disappointed when it ended because it was SO GOOD!! I would do it again.
Very Good Morning Adventure We really enjoyed the tour led by Jonathon. He was very knowledgeable and relatable. The tour was about 90 minutes long and we learned a lot about the history of the station and the modifications to the station over the years. A very nice morning adventure.
A Great Tour! Our guide, John DeSanto, was terrific. Very knowledgeable. He knew everything about Grand Central terminal. Would highly recommend his tour.
Great Tour! John was a very engaging tour guide. I have been through Grand Central Terminal several times before and I really loved getting to look behind the scenes and get to know more of its history. John had so much knowledge and his delivery was top notch. Would recommend to anyone!
