About This Tour:

This tour of Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the New York Hall of Science goes beyond the standard World’s Fair walk!

As we explore the former fairgrounds and surrounding neighborhood of Corona, Queens, you’ll uncover overlooked remnants of the 1964/65 Wold’s Fair, from a geodesic dome aviary and a celestial statue, to a futuristic buried time capsule.

Moving outside the park, we’ll explore how the neighborhood was influenced by the two global fairs that came to town as well as natural forces that continue to impact life in Queens. We’ll also point out a quirky homage to the lost Trylon and Perisphere on an otherwise unassuming residential block.

The tour ends with a special visit inside The New York Hall of Science where we’ll gaze up at the glowing mosaic walls of the Great Hall, see mid-century science exhibits, and get up close to early space age artifacts.

Ear pieces are provided to each guests, ensuring everyone hears the guide perfectly, even from a distance!
