Gilded history I thoroughly enjoyed the Gilded Age tour of 5th Avenue mansions. Richard was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable about NYC and that time in history. He was also very thoughtful regarding our comfort when the day turned chilly.

My experience with the tour for the gilded mansion tour was amazing. Richard was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. He answered every question and overall made it a great experience. I highly recommended if you like history or enjoy Gilded Age TV shows.

Great tour – even if you’ve already been to the city a lot I come to NYC quite often and am always in midtown. While I have been to the Upper East Side, it has been a while and I didn’t know much about it. This tour is fairly priced and was a great exploration about the history of the city I thought I already knew well. It was great to get out from the places I’ve usually been to I’d recommend it for everyone.

Subway Tour Really neat experience that delved into the fascinating history of the subway as we explored several stations. Pete was an awesome tour guide. Highly recommend this.

November 2025 tour with Pete I had a great afternoon exploring the subway with Pete and a small group. He provided excellent facts and told the story of the subway’s origins. We got to see hidden details and views of abandoned stations I never noticed before. I highly recommend this tour!

Métro de New-York New-York se visite de deux façons selon moi, à pied et en métro ! s’armer de patience car il y a beaucoup de lignes cela n’est pas toujours evident, il faut bien faire attention à la direction choisie.

Hidden gem Loved learning about this beautiful historic place. So glad Jackie O was successful it saving it from destruction. Our guide (a true New Yorker) was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and engaging. You could tell he loved what he was doing. The tour was far far better than I expected. Highly recommend the tour! A hidden gem.

Pleasant and Very Interesting A very fun, educational and pleasant afternoon. Bob knows all the great stories we were hoping to hear. Most of the actual mansions are long gone sadly, but Bob has good photos to compare then versus now. Several of the old gentlemen’s clubs are still there. The tour follows 5th Avenue along the east side of Central Park and on a nice day like we had it was gorgeous. Great bang for the buck!

richard was great showing our group the history and architecture of grand central terminal. he was a wealth of information and very knowledgeable. i would definitely recommend the tour but even more so recommend richard.

Great walk through the Gilded Age Kate provided a really informative walk through the Gilded Age. She is very well informed and quite articulate. Her presentation was both comprehensible and very engaging. It was a great morning and an excellent complement to the tv show of the same name.

Wonderful time Our tour guide was Johnathan and he was terrific. He gave us a very interesting and detailed tour and it was obvious he knew his history throughly.
It was a very special experience and my sister and I enjoyed it very much.
Based on this experience I look forward to taking another tour soon.

Fantastic tour We were a group of 5 women who took the Gilded Age tour with Ro as our tour guide. Ro was engaging, very knowledgeable and kept our attention for the two hour tour. I highly recommend this experience.

The tour was very interesting and fun. We learned a lot about Grand Central Terminal how it was built, etc. We really enjoyed! We learned a lot about Grand Central terminal and it’s history. We are native New Yorkers – there were so many things. We never noticed even though we have been there many times.

You could actually hear Jonathan’s every word and he remembered everyone’s names and used them in every sentence (a lost art!). Highly recommend This was an excellent 1 hour 30 minute tour allowing behind the scenes views of Grand Central Station not available to the general public. I would never have known about the tennis court otherwise! The guide explained things so well and gave us so much interesting information. It was well worth doing and one of many great memories from my trip to New York.

An amazing landmark comes alive. We all live in NYC but wanted to learn more about this beautiful landmark. Even jaded New Yorkers will learn so much and be amazed by going on this tour. Our tour guide, Colin, was so personable, kind and knowledgeable. We all had such a great time.

Great Learning Experience for Families/Teenagers We took this tour with our teenage sons for my husband’s birthday trip to NYC. Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and we learned a lot and had fun. We especially enjoyed checking out some of the abandoned stations and looking at beautiful tile mosaics and other decorative station elements from the early 20th century. Highly recommend!

Unexpectedly educated ! This tour was just great. My wife and I have been visiting NYC for years, and this was one of the most unexpectedly interesting tours we have had. We just didn’t know much about this section of town, and our tour guide was so educated and experienced it really opened our eyes to this unique time and history. We can now take a walk down 5th Avenue and have a whole new appreciation for what we are seeing.

A great tour — highly recommend! Our tour of Grand Central Terminal was led by Dr. Richard Soden, who was terrific. He is very well-informed and clearly enjoyed sharing interesting information with our small group. I won’t spoil any secrets by stating them in the review, but I know you will look at this famous New York monument with greater admiration than before.

Fascinating peek into Old New York Fascinating insight into old New York. Loved all the stories, architecture and history. Lots crammed into 2 hours and well worth it. No need to have watched the HBO series- references are made (for interest) but the tour is much more about the growth of the city .and the families behind it. Richard held our attention for the 2 hours and was well armed to answer all questions.

Fabulous Grand Central We did a tour with Ben who was an engaging and knowledgeable guide, bringing alive the history and fascinating story of Grand Central Station. We saw parts of the complex that are not generally accessible and learned about former (and current) activities in these spaces. Highly recommended
