I Thought I Knew Everything but No! I’ve been exploring NYC for 40 years and I thought I knew everything! Boy was I wrong. I learned so much on this tour with Richard, it really put Grand Central into perspective and made me appreciate the building and its functions even more. And finally, after this tour, I think I will be able to find my way around Grand Central next time I’m there — I’ve gotten lost a hundred times, but Richard really showed all the nooks and crannies in a way that made me understand the layout.
Fun tour of a historic landmark Our family took the Secrets of Grand Central tour and had Ryan as our guide. We had a great time. The tour was interesting and took us all around the Terminal. We learned the history of the building, were taken to “secret” entrances and saw really cool places like the Campbell Bar, the whispering room and even tennis courts (who knew?). Also learned of the dedicated efforts to preserve and refurbish the building as well as seeing the new part of the LIRR. Ryan was a great guide, offering up the info with a dry sense of humor that really engaged the group. My 14YO son was a bit skeptical beforehand wondering how interesting it could be but he really enjoyed it as well. Great way to spend a dreary Sunday afternoon.
More like a community than a train station! Our guide was great! She was knowledgeable and pleasant. We were surprised to learn so much about something we thought was place to commute by train.
Visit to Grand Central We walked to the station from our hotel to visit the dining level. We stopped at the Polish counter. Veselka’s. The food was amazing! Do yourself a favor, don’t pass it by. Then on to some of the bakery and bagel stops to make sure we had some to enjoy at the hotel and we were so glad we did. Magnolia bakery for their banana pudding and a brownie then on to “Zaros” for bagels. The station itself is very historic and still looks beautiful and trains still in an out daily. I visualize the GI’s coming home from WW2 while we were there.
Great short tour of historican train station. Richard conducted out tour on January 11, 2026. He was funny, imformative, and pointed out a lot of interesting facts about Grand Central. This is a great way to spend 90 minutes. Really interesting.
Very enjoyable tour of the subway Really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Pete was really knowledgeable and answer all our questions. It’s a little be different to the ‘normal’ tourist tour, and great to just slow down and actually look around and notice things you wouldn’t normally pay attention too. I’d highly recommend the tour of subways.
Recommended to all who are curious of the old and new history of Grand Central Station. “Secrets of Grand Central Station” was a fantastic tour, engaging, informative, and full of surprises. Our guide Bob was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely friendly, bringing the history and hidden details of the station to life. Even if you think you know Grand Central, this tour will show you things you’ve never noticed before. Highly recommended!
Grand Central Terminal The tour of Grand Central was great and exceeded expectations! Richard, our guide, was wonderful and so knowledgeable about the history of Grand Central. The length of time of the tour was just right and money well spent. We keep thinking of the interesting facts we learned. Take the tour!
All-in-all, a pleasant way to spend a chilly afternoon in NYC Tour guide, John, had a wonderful personality and manner that exuded good will — put everyone who was in the beautifully-sized group (not too small, not too large) in a good mood for a well-paced tour of the terminal. (Ran maybe ten or fifteen minutes over allotted time, but nobody had to get anywhere, so it was just more fun.) Gave out very small speakers, with adjustable volume, that hang over your ear, so everyone could hear clearly. Also, had iPad he used to show many photos of past versions of terminal, etc. Part of the tour was, necessarily, in the chilly outdoors — but not too long. All-in-all, a pleasant way to spend a chilly afternoon in NYC.
Great tour with unique hidden locations! We had an awesome tour and AJ was an amazing guide! He was so knowledgeable and knew so much, not only about Grand Central Station, but about NYC in general. We really enjoyed this tour and the chance to see areas that the general public don’t normally get to see. It was a great addition to our time in NYC!
Fascinating insights led by an entertaining and knowledgeable guide. Very much enjoyed the guide. He was super attentive and made the 100-minute tour feel like 5 minutes. The amount of knowledge he had was tremendous and it was presented in a light and humorous way. Highly recommended.
Informative but repetitive The tour was good. It gave a lot of information about an interesting space. The my tour guide Louis was very well-informed. He could answer questions, and he was willing to say that he didn’t know in those few circumstances when he did not.
Unfortunately, he said everything two or three times, with slightly different wording but no additional information. The tour ran over time. However, with less blather the tour could have finished early and have been more enjoyable.
Subway tour by AJ was great! I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about the history of the NYC subway system. AJ, our tour guide, was phenomenal. He expertly explained the beginnings of the subway and how it expanded throughout the city.
Perfect 2 hour tour This was a very interesting tour with a great mix of architecture, history and even current topics like recent sales of buildings or renovations. I have been along this stretch of Avenue often and still learned some new things on this tour. The guide was knowledgeable and well versed in the material. As all Untapped tours, it was excellently curated and was delivered in exactly 2 hours as promised. I would recommend this tour to pretty much anyone.
Must Do for Architecture loves Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and energetic while walking us through the magical history of the Guilded Age!👍🏻 Hand warmers for those cold days and head sets provided to hear the stories.
Perfect outing when you have out of town guests. I say this as a lifelong New Yorker with a good grasp on city history. Took tee Perfect outing when u have out of town visitors. I am a native New Yorker with a good handle on city history and still learned more. Small group, knowledgeable guide. Took teenage grandkids
Fun and fascinating tour of Grand Central We took our family of native / life-long New Yorkers on a private tour of Grand Central. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, bringing the history of the terminal and New York to life in an entertaining and joyful way. Everyone enjoyed the day. A great family outing!
Great Tour! Love this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept a great pace throughout. Despite being a busy Sunday afternoon during the holidays, we were able to see so many cool features of the gorgeous GC and hear a lot of interesting fun facts about the building, New York history even though I’ve been a New Yorker for 12 years! I’m looking forward to doing more tours with this company. Highly recommended.
Grand Tour of Grand Central Loved our fast paced tour, and how well our guide wove us in and out and among the throngs of visitors. He was able to answer all our questions. As locals, we appreciated the history and significance of the many aspects of the station and its surroundings. Highly recommend it.
